Planet Fitness Promo Codes 2026: Current Deals, $1 Down Offers & Membership Discounts

Last checked: September 22, 2026 · United States · Current deals reviewed against official Planet Fitness membership, club-offer, referral and promotion information.

Current Planet Fitness deals for September 2026

Planet Fitness operates through independently owned and operated locations, which means the deal available in New York may not match the deal offered at a club in Texas, Florida or California.

That makes the ZIP code or club-selection step important. Planet Fitness shows the actual membership price, startup fee, annual fee, commitment period and available promotional pricing after you select a club.

Are there active Planet Fitness promo codes in 2026?

Planet Fitness does accept promo codes. Official membership pages for individual clubs include an “Enter code” or “Promo Code” field during the membership-selection process.

The important part is that the presence of a promo-code box does not mean there is one public code that works nationwide.

Planet Fitness promotions can come from several places:

• Planet Fitness national limited-time campaigns
• Local Planet Fitness club promotions
• Member referral links
• Special partner campaigns
• Promotional emails or app offers
• Short-term seasonal promotions

A code may work for one participating club but fail at another. It may also stop working after its stated expiration date.

Planet Fitness Refer-a-Friend discount

One of the most useful official Planet Fitness discounts is the Refer-a-Friend program.

Planet Fitness says active eligible members can refer friends using a unique referral link. When a qualifying friend uses that link and purchases a new Planet Fitness membership, the referral can benefit both people.

What does the new member get?

Planet Fitness currently promotes the referral offer as a way for the referred friend to join for a $1 startup fee. The company also describes the current referral offer as having no commitment, subject to participating locations and the terms displayed during enrollment.

This can be more reliable than copying random Planet Fitness coupon codes from coupon websites because the referral link comes directly from Planet Fitness.

What does the referring member get?

For every successful qualifying referral, the existing member receives a credit equal to one month of membership fees.

The official referral terms limit the reward to a maximum of three monthly membership-fee credits per calendar year.

Those credits apply to upcoming monthly membership dues. They do not erase past-due balances and do not count toward the annual membership fee.

Who can participate in the referral program?

Planet Fitness says eligibility is limited to active members. Employees and members with prepaid memberships are excluded from the standard Refer-a-Friend program.

The program is offered at participating locations in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Does Planet Fitness still have the $1 down deal?

Yes, $1 down promotions still appear on official Planet Fitness club pages, but you should not assume every club has the exact same offer.

For example, current September 2026 Planet Fitness club pages reviewed for this guide show participating locations advertising reduced $1 startup fees for eligible membership plans.

Another location may show a higher startup fee, different monthly dues or a different commitment period.

Is $1 down the same as $1 total?

No. This is one of the most important details to understand before joining.

“$1 down” normally refers to the promotional startup or enrollment amount. It does not mean the entire Planet Fitness membership costs $1.

Depending on the offer, you may still have:

• monthly membership dues;
• an annual membership fee;
• applicable state or local taxes;
• possible location-specific fees;
• and any commitment or cancellation terms shown in your membership agreement.

Always check the full payment summary before completing enrollment.

Planet Fitness membership prices before promo codes

A promo code is only useful if you understand the regular price it is changing.

Planet Fitness currently lists two main U.S. membership types: Classic and PF Black Card®.

Planet Fitness states that membership pricing can vary by location. Startup fees, annual fees and commitment requirements can vary too.

That is why an article claiming one exact Planet Fitness price for every location in America can be misleading.

How to use a Planet Fitness promo code

If you have a legitimate Planet Fitness promo code, applying it online is straightforward.

1. Choose your Planet Fitness club.
   Select the location you plan to use as your home club.
2. Open that club’s membership offers.
   Review the available Classic and PF Black Card plans.
3. Find the Promo Code field.
   Official Planet Fitness club membership pages include a field where an eligible code can be entered.
4. Enter the code exactly as provided.
   Check spelling, numbers and expiration restrictions.
5. Apply the code.
   If valid for that club and membership, the offer page should update to show the applicable deal.
6. Check every fee before paying.
   Review monthly dues, startup fee, annual fee, taxes, commitment period and promotion expiration information.

Why does my Planet Fitness promo code say invalid?

A Planet Fitness code can fail for several reasons:

• the offer has expired;
• the code is restricted to another location;
• the promotion applies only to new members;
• the code applies only to a specific membership;
• the promotion is limited to participating locations;
• the code has already been redeemed where single-use restrictions apply;
• or the code came from an unofficial coupon website and was never valid.

Planet Fitness promo code vs. referral code

The two terms are often used interchangeably online, but they are not always the same thing.

For shoppers, the result can look similar—a lower startup cost—but the eligibility and terms can be different.

Expired Planet Fitness promotions you should not treat as current

Planet Fitness runs legitimate short-term deals throughout the year. Old promotions often remain indexed in Google long after the offer ends, which is why outdated “Planet Fitness coupon code” pages can be confusing.

$1 down and $10/month – September 2026

Apple Music promotion – July 2026

From July 20 through July 31, 2026, Planet Fitness offered a limited new-member promotion with $1 down plus Apple Music access.

Under that promotion:

• eligible Classic members could receive up to two free months of Apple Music;
• eligible PF Black Card members could receive up to three free months;
• and the offer expired July 31, 2026.

Do not advertise the Apple Music deal as a current September promotion.

One-cent-down promotion – spring 2026

Planet Fitness also ran a spring promotion from March 30 through April 10, 2026 that allowed new members to join an eligible Classic membership for one cent down and $15 per month.

That promotion is also expired.

$1 down and $15/month promotions

Planet Fitness ran multiple $1-down offers earlier in 2026, including January and February promotions for new members.

These historic deals are useful for understanding how often Planet Fitness runs promotions, but they should not be copied into a current coupon list as if they still work.

Other official ways to save at Planet Fitness

1. Check your selected club before joining

The same membership can have different enrollment terms depending on location. Before paying, compare the current offer shown by your nearby clubs.

Do not compare only the monthly dues. Check the startup fee, annual fee and commitment too.

2. Use an official member referral

If a friend or family member already belongs to Planet Fitness and is eligible for the Refer-a-Friend program, ask for their official referral link.

The current Planet Fitness referral offer can give a qualifying new member a $1 startup deal while the existing member can earn a membership-fee credit.

3. Watch for limited-time national promotions

Planet Fitness ran several short promotions during 2026, including January, February, spring, summer and early September deals.

These offers can last only several days, so an expired coupon page may become inaccurate quickly.

4. Check PF Perks after joining

Planet Fitness members can access PF Perks through the Planet Fitness App. These include discounts and special offers from participating partner brands.

Partner brands and discount amounts can change, so check the app for the offers available to your account.

5. Compare the total first-year cost

A low startup fee does not automatically make one plan cheaper.

For example, when comparing offers, calculate:

12 months of dues + startup fee + annual fee + applicable taxes or disclosed charges.

This gives you a more useful comparison than looking only at a headline such as “$1 down.”

Does Planet Fitness offer student promo codes?

Planet Fitness does not currently advertise a permanent nationwide college-student coupon code on its main U.S. membership pages.

That does not rule out a temporary local or partner offer. If you see a student code online, verify it on the official enrollment page for your club before relying on the discount.

Planet Fitness does run a separate High School Summer Pass program for eligible teens during the summer. In 2026, that program allowed teens ages 14–19 to work out free from June 1 through August 31. That seasonal program has ended for 2026 and is different from a regular student membership discount.

Does Planet Fitness offer a military promo code?

Planet Fitness does not currently list one permanent nationwide military promo code across its standard U.S. membership pages.

Individual clubs or short-term campaigns may have different offers, so military members and veterans should check the membership page for their chosen club rather than relying on an old nationwide coupon claim.

Does Planet Fitness have Black Friday promo codes?

Planet Fitness has offered seasonal promotions and member discount events in the past, but there is no reason to assume a specific Black Friday 2026 membership code before Planet Fitness officially publishes one.

If a Black Friday or holiday promotion launches, check the exact start date, expiration date, participating locations and membership restrictions before publishing or using the offer.

What is Planet Fitness PerksFest?

Planet Fitness occasionally runs a savings event called PerksFest. These promotions focus on discounts from partner brands for Planet Fitness members.

The August 2026 PerksFest ran from August 3 through August 14 and included member deals from brands such as Amazfit, HeyDude and NOBULL through the PF App.

That event has ended, but year-round PF Perks continue to be part of the Planet Fitness member experience.

How to check whether a Planet Fitness promo is real

Before using any Planet Fitness coupon from Google, Reddit, social media or a coupon website, run through these checks:

• Look for the promotion on the official Planet Fitness website.
• Select your actual club rather than assuming national pricing.
• Check the expiration date.
• Confirm whether the deal is for new members only.
• Check whether it applies to Classic, PF Black Card or both.
• Review the annual fee separately.
• Look for a commitment requirement.
• Check whether the promo is automatically applied.
• Never assume an old code will still work because a coupon page labels it “verified.”

When does Planet Fitness usually run promotions?

There is no fixed guarantee that Planet Fitness will offer a specific discount during any particular month. However, its official 2026 promotion history shows that limited-time membership deals have appeared at several points during the year.

This history is useful if you are deciding whether to join immediately or watch for a new promotion. It does not guarantee that Planet Fitness will repeat any specific price.

Should you wait for a Planet Fitness promo code?

That depends on the current offer at your home club.

If your club already has a $1 startup promotion and the membership terms fit your needs, waiting for an unknown future coupon may not save much. On the other hand, if the current startup cost is high and you are in no rush to join, checking the official club page over the next few weeks can show whether a new deal appears.

Pay close attention to the annual fee and commitment. Saving $28 on a startup fee matters less if you accidentally choose a membership with terms you did not want.

Planet Fitness promo code FAQs

Before using a Planet Fitness coupon

The safest way to save is to start with the official offer for the Planet Fitness location you actually plan to use. Check whether a special price is already applied, compare Classic and PF Black Card terms, and then test a legitimate promo or referral offer if you have one.

Pay attention to the full cost rather than only the headline discount. A $1 startup fee can be attractive, but monthly dues, annual fees, commitment length and location-specific terms still determine what the membership really costs.
